The Staffing Effectiveness Report with Coverage can be used to calculate actual staffing to target for reporting. When covering skills are configured for a department, the primary skill and covering skills are grouped together in the report. Configured covering skills are designated by an asterisk and are included in the primary skill count for the shift summary period. In the example below, LVNs and RNRs are configured as covering skills for RN shifts and included in the Scheduled RN Total calculation.
Staffing Effectiveness with Coverage - Summary View by Skill and Date range
1. In the main navigation menu, click Reports to view the report list.
2. Click Staffing Effectiveness Report with Coverage listed in the Schedule Quality report group.
3. In the staffing filter, select
a) Facility
b) Department(s) - the departments to which you have access are listed
c) View report for a Date Range and enter dates. Date ranges may cross schedule periods.
d) Or select Schedule Period and select the period
e) Choose to view the report by Skill or Professional Status
4. Click Save.
Report results are presented in two views: Summary and Data.
The Summary view displays scheduling data totals by skill or professional status for the selected date range or schedule period.
The Data view displays a detailed, expanded view of all skills per shift and day.
In both reports, primary and covering skill are grouped and totaled. Covering skills are indicated by an asterisk.
Staffing Effectiveness Report with Coverage - Data View by Skill and Date Range
As with other reports, you can drag the column header to the top of the table to group information and gather final data. The Export to Excel function keeps the same sort order that you select when you move one or more column headers.
